Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD)

The Temporomandibular Joint is one of the most active joints in our body. Our treatments are patient-centered focusing on learning to control and manage the TMD symptoms and decrease the impact in your daily life. We go deeper into your evaluation looking not only at the Temporomandibular Joint, but look at your head, neck, posture, and breathing.

How does it work?

We use a multifactoral approach, not just addressing the jaw, but also addressing soft tissue structures, capsular ligaments, posture, and muscular weakness. Our goal is to decrease pain and functional limitations. We encourage self-management techniques and education.  We provide a global approach to treatment by addressing the soft tissue structure of mastication to decrease pain, utilize joint mobility to open up the joint and increase mobility as well as address cervical vertebral and occipital structures.
